This film features a review of the Novotel hotel at Prague Wenceslas Square. Novotel is a decent business / mid-range brand, which is a part of the Accor group. Generally speaking I find Novotel to be a consistent and good quality brand. They are a hotel brand that I often look for when researching new destinations, due to their consistent high quality. My first observation about this hotel was it's name, the hotel is called Novotel Prague Wenceslas Square but is in fact nowhere near Wenceslas Square, which is a good 10-15 minute walk away, or two stops on the metro. For me this is a minus point for the hotel. So please do not be fooled by the name of the hotel as to it's location, which is in a fairly non-touristy part of Prague, but is served reasonably well by a collection of shops and bars at less than touristy prices. The tram is also very close by as is the Metro. This review gives a detailed inspection of room 529, an internal room - I had asked for street view but this was denied by a rather abrupt receptionist - so another two minus points there, one for my advanced request not being granted, and another for the poor attitude of the receptionist. I believe she was a 'senior' receptionist or supervisor, I was left unimpressed with her attitude. The room itself was fine apart from a tatty carpet. The film features views in the lift, reception, lobby, bar and restaurant, including the extensive and excellent breakfast buffet. The film also features the decent fitness suite, which includes a swimming pool and gym. Despite my criticisms, my wife and I enjoyed our stay here, and whilst I probably wouldn't stay here again (when there are better located hotels elsewhere in Prague), I would still recommend the hotel to other visitors to the city.
